Semi-Final Program Grid for Sam Lubell

This is the Semi-Final program schedule. Sam Lubell may or may not actually be on these items, but probably will. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, modifications to the program can occur throughout the convention.

Sunday 9:00 am: The Future of Reading (Ends at: 9:55 am)
Panelists: Neil Clarke, Chris Dolley, Sam Lubell (M)
Bookstores are disappearing and ebook use is growing. Online zines and podcasts are replacing print magazines. How does this affect readers and writers and sellers of science fiction and fantasy? How can new writers and books by midlist writers get to readers? What will the reading world of 2020 be like?
Sunday 3:00 pm: Stories in a Series (Ends at: 3:55 pm)
Panelists: Brenda Clough, Sam Lubell, Bud Sparhawk (M), Lawrence Watt-Evans
Some authors use short stories to explore aspects of a series' universe that arenít enough for a whole novel. Or to write about the backstory of minor characters or fill in the gaps? What writers do this well? How can you make these stories understandable to those who have not read the series and let readers of the novels know about stories?
