Preliminary Program Grid for Carolyn Ives Gilman

This is the Preliminary program schedule. Carolyn Ives Gilman may or may not actually be on these items, but probably will. However, due to circumstances beyond our control, modifications to the program can occur throughout the convention.

Saturday 2:00 pm: The Care and Feeding of Critique Groups (Ends at: 2:55 pm) Bethesda
Panelists:Jeanne Adams, Deidre Dykes, Carolyn Ives Gilman, Larry Hodges, Gayle Surrette (M)
Description of Program Participating in a critique group can be a great way to improve your writing. Not all such groups work out well, though. The panel will discuss ways to keep a critique group helpful, vibrant, and long-lived.
Sunday 12:00 pm: It's a Conspiracy! (Ends at: 12:55 pm) Frederick
Panelists:T. Eric Bakutis, Carolyn Ives Gilman, Michael A. Ventrella, Joan Wendland (M)
Why are we so willing to believe that everyone is out to get us? How does this appeal to us in books and movies, even if we don't believe them?
Sunday 2:00 pm: Buildings with Power (Ends at: 2:55 pm) Bethesda
Panelists:Carolyn Ives Gilman, Andrew Hiller, Kathryn Morrow
Libraries, museums, archives, bookstores .. all these have been used as places of power and mystery in literature. With our changing society, does this trope still hold true or are there new centers of energy?
