Where reading is not extinct!
(and satire is alive and well)

October 17-19, 2008

Capclave 2008 proudly announces
James Morrow
as Author Guest of Honor and Supreme Satirist
and
Michael Dirda
as Critic Guest of Honor and Champion Critic

Sponsored by the Washington Science Fiction Association

Location: Hilton Washington DC/Rockville, Executive Meeting Center,
1750 Rockville Pike, Rockville, Maryland 20852

Capclave, the Washington, D.C. area science fiction literary convention, offers a relaxed atmosphere in which notable authors, editors, critics, artists, and fans explore the creation and enjoyment of fantasy and science fiction. Capclave focuses on short stories, but also gives lots of attention to novels, movies, and TV. Because we're small, we're friendly and fun, not frantic.

Past Capclaves have hosted discussions with authors and fans; readings; a dealer's room with books, magazines, artwork, crafts, and other science fiction and fantasy related items; the WSFA small press award; workshops on writing, reviewing, reading; science presentations; a hospitality suite; room parties; interesting conversations with fans and professionals; and a relaxed atmosphere for visiting old friends and making new ones.

Our hotel is the same as in 2007, steps away from the Metro and right on Rt. 355, near tons of food and shopping.
